Elie Wiesel:

The web site of the La Salle Academy of Providence, Rhode Island devotes a page to you at the top of which appears the following:

"The only thing necessary
for the triumph of evil
is for good men
to do nothing." — Elie Wiesel
Elie Wiesel

You will find the La Salle Academy web site home page at
www.lasalle-academy.org
and the page devoted to you at
www.lasalle-academy.org/depa/relstudies/People/Wiesel/night.htm.

However, my Bartlett's Familiar Quotations informs me that Edmund Burke wrote precisely these same words in his letter of January 9, 1795 to William Smith.  Unless the La Salle Academy misattribution is corrected, you will continue receiving credit for another man's words, which will be setting a bad example for your students.
