A question that might arise is how it is possible for anybody to write a letter on February 19 enquiring about a photograph that appeared in TIME magazine on February 22.  The answer is that a TIME magazine that is dated February 22 is in fact issued several days before that date.

I am interested in obtaining photocopies of all information that you may have concerning the photograph published in Time magazine (February 22, 1993, p. 28) of which I have enclosed a photocopy.

Is the exact date of this incident known, or perhaps the names of any of the involved?  Might any of the people involved be still alive?  Would you have a copy of the police report of the incident?  Would you be able to supply me with an enlarged and uncropped copy of this photograph?

Perhaps you could tell me, too, who might be the person most knowledgeable concerning this photograph that I could communicate with.

I would be most happy to reimburse you fully for all expenses involved in providing me with any of this material.
